David Beckham insists his move to Los Angeles will not prompt his international retirement and he still harbours hopes of playing for England again.

“My ambition has never changed since the age of 13,” he told Sky Sports News.

“I have always wanted to play for my country and always will be available for my country whether I am in Spain for the next four months or in Los Angeles.

“I am available for my country, everyone knows how passionate I am about that and I am always available.

“The most important thing is that I am out and playing.”

England face crunch Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra next month and Beckham is keen for The Three Lions to make progress.

“For me I hope the England team goes through as quick as possible, there are some great players,” he added.

Beckham has earned a recall at Real after being told earlier in the season that he was surrplus to requirements under coach Fabio Capello.

He will now be hoping to repeat the feat with England coach Steve McClaren, who has snubbed Beckham since last summer’s World Cup.
