Leeds take over bid thwarted by red tape | World Soccer

Ugandan property tycoon Michael Ezra says his attempt to buy Leeds United is being held up by a dispute over the board’s composition.

Ezra told the state-owned New Vision newspaper that he held a meeting at Leeds United on Monday and gave them two days to accept his bid. ÊÊ ÊÊ

“The six-man board that I presented doesn’t have any Briton and they don’t find that acceptable,” Ezra was quoted as saying.

“They also feel that my board lacks the technical expertise to bolster the club. “Money is no longer the issue, that has been sorted,” he said.

“Leeds knows that I have the £60m. My board would also spend an extra 30 million to strengthen the team.”

On Monday Leeds stock gained 14 percent on the report of Ezra’s interest. Leeds been given until Friday to solve their financial crisis.
